The problem with EZ-Pass (as I understand) is it can't be configured to be car (two axle) in the morning and a multi axle tow vehicle and trailer next.
The higher "tech" system some states use have no problems with things like that.
They can also have multiple vehicles, with different axle counts, on the same account with no problems.
So a business can have a car and a double truck, and both get charged the correct amount.
