US95 has some grades where it drops to the Snake and Salmon Rivers (Lewiston, Whitebird). Those concern RVs, but in a car aren't an issue. At New Meadow you can stay on 94, or turn left to McCall and 55 to Boise. McCall is probably the highest point on this route - it's a favorite vacation spot for Boise residents.
But in snowy conditions, the 90/15 route is probably better plowed.
