Things are picking up to be one of the most active avalanche seasons.
A slide on the chute near Peak 1 in Frisco is visible from my office. Reports of multiple cars trapped under a slide on Route 91 near Copper Mountain occurred this evening. Rescue crews are searching for backcountry skiers in the "Minturn Mile." That is some great backcountry skiing, but NOT under these conditions. Local NOAA radio is yet again reporting a winter storm warning for tomorrow.
I am glad I have a honkin' track snowblower... it is sure getting a workout this winter.
