Colorado State Highway 13, Rifle, CO to Baggs, WY

I have a 35' motor home towing 4 down and heading back to MN from Grand Juction, CO. I wanted to avoid I-70 to and going thru Denver. Is CO Hwy 13 starting at Rifle, CO to Baggs, WY a good route? Are ...

there is a great little rest stop at Rifle, just across the bridge going north.. the Lion's Club sponsors it. Nice and quiet and good overnight spot.
we have used it several times on our way up to Meeker and highway 64.
