Colorado State Highway 13, Rifle, CO to Baggs, WY

I have a 35' motor home towing 4 down and heading back to MN from Grand Juction, CO. I wanted to avoid I-70 to and going thru Denver. Is CO Hwy 13 starting at Rifle, CO to Baggs, WY a good route? Are ...

Craig, CO to Baggs is an easy state highway with a few gentle grades and very few curves. A little upgrade right at the CO/WY border, but completely flat from there into Baggs. Baggs is a tiny oil town without much to offer travelers. Not a very scenic route unless you like sagebrush and junipers, but no problem at all for your long rig.

And I agree with avoiding Railroad Avenue in Rifle at all costs. I try to do it even when I am not towing my trailer!
