The most direct route is State Route 33, Columbus, OH., to Ft Wayne. Much of that route is single-lane highway.
As an alternative, take I-70 west from Columbus to I-75. North on I-75 to State Route 30. Hwy 30 (divided highway) west to Ft. Wayne.
Ft. Wayne has a municiple camp ground (Coliseum Blvd /Parnell Ave., near Johnny Appleseed Park) as well as several conveniently located Walmart Supercenters which allow overnight parking.
