I draw and save on Adobe PDF's all the time,
You don't say what .pdf maps you are using. Are they detailed down to local streets? Can you use as GPS? Do they cover all of North America in detail?
The computer maps I am referring to are ones you can zoom in and out and move around on. In most cases you can use them with a GPS receiver. We are aware of .pdf sort of overview maps similar to a paper map or atlas. But what I want is details similar to what you get with something like a GARMIN but something that works well in a computer. GOOGLE MAPS provides such detail but can only be used online to the best of my knowledge (my knowledge is limited).
I have tried the other maps I mention . . .
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/windows-maps/9wzdncrdtbvb . . .
or . . . . http://navigatorfree.mapfactor.com/en/download/ . . . .
where you can put in an exact address and find it fast - and then get a specific route to that address - anywhere in North America. Or you can put in LAT LON numbers and find that exact spot - or go to an exact spot and find the LAT LON for that spot.
Garmin has Basecamp for computers but it really doesn't seem to do much good - not much detail.
Details are what I am looking for. Exact location details. In many cases with things such as nearest gas station or nearest RV park / campground.
Used to be we could do all of this with good old MS S&T - that and much much more. But they quit on us and now we are looking for something to replace it that has the new roads as they are built.
I can't figure out how to do what I need with the mentioned products. I do know how to use things such as the Rand McNally Street Atlas. But what I want is something that gets in closer and shows every little street.
