Corpus Christi Westbound

Texas 44 west out of Corpus to US83 seems like a fairly direct option as we head to points west. Anyone know what the road is like? A few streetview samples look ok but its hard to tell from that.

    It has been a few years, but I have driven 44 a couple times. Nothing comes to mind that it is not an OK route. I would not hesitate to drive it again.
