We were on a birding and photography jaunt last February. Arenal volcano was bright at night (full moon) and the next day as well. Seeing and photographing 35 species of hummingbird is something else (seeing hummers at La Paz Falls gardens might be cheating). We have run into a number of folks that have RV'ed down through Central America (they all seemed to stay at the CG in Yucatan we have spent 3 winters) and at the only RV park in Belize (Inglewood which is great) about 10 miles from only crossing into Guatemala. It is mainly Swiss, French and Germans but there was a great crew of national/international level white water kayakers from Washginton/BC headed down to Chile in 4 Springs
