Credit card/cash questions for travel in Canada

I went to Northern Credit Union yesterday in Petawawa, Ontario and got $300.00 in $20s The cost to my US account was $229.46. That was a good exchange I think. I would have preferred a couple of $50s but $20s spend as well.
