Crossing US Canada and back conflicting info on dogs

We are preparing for a trip through Canada from Georgia to Anchorage on the Alaska Hiway next week. I have conflicting info about documentation for our dogs. We have the required rabies certificates, ...

I just crossed into Canada (Roosville) and they didn't even ask about my dogs, which were visible in the back and passenger seats. Coming back into the U.S. was the same. No interest whatsoever. I have Blue Heelers, FWIW.
