Crossing US Canada and back conflicting info on dogs

We are preparing for a trip through Canada from Georgia to Anchorage on the Alaska Hiway next week. I have conflicting info about documentation for our dogs. We have the required rabies certificates, ...

We have never been asked about our dogs. We do have all the paperwork just in case. Rabies is the must have.
We do know travelers who have been asked about their pets, shots, medications if any and food. They were all compliant and carried on.
