Cumberland Parkway

My DW and I will be travelling up from Pigeon Forge, TN to Mammoth Caves SP in Kentucky this July pulling our 5th wheel. Would you recommend the Cumberland Parkway route between Somerset & Glasgow or some other highway, like US90? Not looking to make the best time necessarily, but a good road without mountain passes or steep grades is most desirable. Thanks for any help you could offer!
