DW has some serious health issues. One is that she can't see down. It's hard to explain. She has had numerous surgeries on her eyes and has lost some peripheral vision. The sides are still good but she has lost some of the bottom and top of her vision. So she can't see the floor until about 8 feet in front of herself. Level works better or she holds my arm and I guide her. We are actually quite good that way but DW likes her independence as well. Also, it is better if we are someplace that an ambulance has good access. DW has a severe case of type 1 diabetes. There is nothing funnier than the reaction of people watching her walk with a white cane then get in our truck and drive. Yes, she can drive a truck perfectly because she doesn't need to see the peddles. LOL
