We are based on the Eastern Shore & have been back & forth across the country a number of times in the past 7 years. I70 is one highway we have not used much of. Too much traffic. Too much beaten up road. Went through St Louis once. No thanks to doing that again. Find somewhere else to cross the Mississippi.
Depending on where we are going to or coming from we had had great enjoyment riding 50 or 36. Both are multi lane mostly. Both have ring roads around major towns. Both are generally in good shape & away from towns have little traffic.
This week we will do the last bit of 50 to Carson City, NV completing, at one point or another doing the whole road to Ocean City, MD. We have gotten this far, Bryce Canyon, without hardly touching an interstate.
