Ahh...experience. That is going to be the elephant in the room. I am most experienced, but I don't have any ice climbing experience. Rock, top rope, rescue, and repelling both above and below ground (caves).
I've also hiked a week at a time, including over 1500ft elevation in about 1/2 mile, twice up and twice down (2nd hill slightly smaller, but both over)
The highest I've hiked vs 'walked' as one poster described it is around 3k.
Ranier was a rigorous hike, but not climbing.
Most likely this would be for next year, but start training and other climbs this year.
Unless, of course, we wanted to be 'Sourdoughs' ;)
I'd like to hear some stories and challenges from those experienced in this or similar treks. I find it most interesting and helpful to identify and then quantify the main issues, then make a plan to be prepared to overcome those issues.
Not to mention it would be VERY INTERESTING to hear and see pics!
