My husband had two implants done last fall. With one they pulled a cracked tooth and put the implant right into the socket. With the other one, they had to drill into the bone to put it in. He had them done under local anesthesia with no pain or difficulty. But he is right, it does take 3 to 6 months to complete the procedure.
