We go through this every time this subject arises. The dentists are, for the most part, trained in the US. The safety and sanitary conditions are equal to the US. The dentists don't have to cater to the insurance industry as they do here so they don't charge me $4000 because your insurance company only allows them to charge you $500. They do not have massive malpractice insurance bills to pay, which may be taken as a negative because you probably won't get very far trying to sue them. Their buildings don't cost as much and their equipment, although often new and state of the art, is less expensive. Their office staff makes peanuts compared to here. Drugs, supplies, etc. are much less expensive. They have an enormous US and Canadian clientele so they work on a smaller profit margin and make sure they keep their customers satisfied because they know we talk to each other. I certainly am not trying to make anyone use them who is not comfortable with the idea, but I do wish to share my positive experience with those who ask.
