Diesel fuel at Card Locks across Canada

It finally looks like road travel could open up as the Covid things is becoming more under control, at least in Western Canada. Our plan to travel from West coast to East coast to see family could happen this year.

I have been having a look at fueling up at card locks and truck stops along the way so I don't have to deal with squeezing our 35' 5er into the usual gas islands. I did that with our 30' travel trailer and it was not much fun at times.

I think I'm good in the West (BC to Manitoba) with Co-Op as they cater to non commercial applications as a group, but I don't know about Ontario to NS.

Anyone have experience with this?
  • I use Chevron card locks in Western Canada and I have yet to find one that didn’t have the smaller size of diesel nozzle. Can’t talk about any east of Saskabush.
Now, I haven’t been to every chevron card lock, but the ones I’ve used have both sizes for diesel fuel.

Just be aware that not all cardlocks have the smaller nozzles a pickup needs to fuel up. Those large nozzles and higher pumping rates are designed to fill big tanks fast and don’t always play nice with smaller fill ports.
  • I have used petro pass for years. Easy in and out and you can park overnight in some of them. High speed pump are a nice feature to. They always have the long handle windshield squeegzie. They used to give out a nice booklet showing exact locations but have not seen one in a few yesrs so i am not certain it is available.
    Have a great trip.
  • Esso is good all the way to Ontario, easy in @ all card locks, don't know about the rest of the way but all card lock company's will tell you.
