The use of LSD does not plug or harm the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) in any way, PROVIDED that the vehicle is not driven more than 40,000 continuous miles on LSD (Low Sulfur Diesel). Extensive testing of the emissions components prior to 2007 by the manufacturers showed that sulfur poisoning is temporary, and 100% normal function returns to the emissions system as soon as the vehicle is back on ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel)and has performed a regeneration cycle. No degradation of performance of the emissions system occurs as long as the vehicle is not driven 40,000 continuous miles on LSD, but even then, degradation is gradual and at least another 20,000 miles would have to be driven to get noticeable deterioration in the performance of the DPF. In almost 8 years of keeping data I have never come across a single report of DPF damage due to sulfur in the fuel.
