- TenOCNomadNo, but I would carry a spare and have road side assistance. The roads in AK are no different than the roads in the lower 48, but the distance between towns is much greater.
In my experience the tires on a TT wear out MUCH quicker than on a truck. I think it is because the axles are not able to handle the load we put in an TT and the tires wear on the inside or out side unevenly. I have had a total of 6 flats all in the lower 48. One trip to AK and one trip to Newfoundland.
1. Check your tires for uneven wear. How much have your tires worn in 5,000 miles?????
2. Get a set of tire pressure monitors. There is lots of information on RV.Net about the TPMs.
3. You may wish to get new tires before you leave the USA -- after you put 1,000 more miles on the tires.
