I hope it is okay that I post these links. We stayed in Mineral Creek and are in the middle of posting a video series on our stay there. Hope it gives you some insight. We will return there many, many times in the future. When you see the crowd in the camping area, realize this was July 4th week.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive that section of road. However, the section from Silverton to Ouray is a different animal.
