ItsyRV...I don't think your understanding of the OP's question is the same as mine.
teeznu...Please clarify...Do you just want to drive through from Bitter Springs to get to the other side of the mountain to Fredonia? If so, as suggested you have the choice of 89A or 89.
Hwy 89A from Bitter Springs to Fredonia is doable. Just know that you will be climbing and then going down about 4,500 ft. Some fairly easy switchbacks, but I believe you will be on the mountain side. Use your gears, don't expect to win any races.
Hwy 89 from Bitter Springs to Page, Big Water, Kanab is definitely an easier drive. Just a pull up the mountain from Bitter Springs, but shorter, less elevation change and easier than the uphill on 89A. The rest is an easy drive.
