On Google Maps sat view I can trace a twisty route from Wagner Rd, ending up on Lookout Mountain Rd which meets 214 just west of the park. I sued Ayers Creek and Shellberg Rd. There's a segment of Shellberg that gets closer to 22 (with a branch called Teeters), but it does not connect (on the map) with Fern Ridge, nor the deadend piece of Teeters further south.
Fern Ridge, Basil and Coon Hollow might get you there - or at least leave you wandering among farms, rather than in the forest.
