I second the motion to put this thread in RVing in Canada and Alaska.
The question is about place, not type of rv.
I'm a former Newfoundland Resident and you can see a link to my Labrador Trip pics in my signature.
I moved away in 2008, so there is some stuff I don't know quite as well, but..... check on the ferry from N. Sydney, NS. to Port aux Basques, NL. Yep, take short route, there is lots to see different on your return drive.
Check also with Diann of RobandDi. They have made lots of trips to Newfoundland for 2 month rambles. & Diann has lots of pics around too.
Re. Labrador. When I did it not all parts of the trip from Baie Comeau to Labrador City/Wabush were paved. I loved the generating station stops, even though mon francais est tres peu. There is a ferry to Baie Comeau.
When I did it the road link from Happy Valley-Goose Bay to Cartwright was not complete. That opened in 2009. Yes, it all gets graded quite well.
Like N. Ontario, N. Quebec, etc. if you stop to boondock in the boondocks, stop where you get a nice breeze off the water. Otherwise, load yourself down with bug jackets and insect repellent. In my day, the town of Churchill Falls had a place to park and plug in.
Always ask locals. They know the place, they know what's going this year.
Definitely, but definitely stop and do Red Bay with care. That's the best outline for 15th century whalers and before.
Re. Newfoundland, do you want me to go on.
L'Anse aux Meadows Viking site and Gros Morne National Park are exclusive sites for the planet.
Remember, get this thread moved.
