- Just_LearningExplorerThere appears to be two routes into Cody from the east 14 and 16, 16 being the better road to drive, but are we giving up a lot of scenery not taking 14?
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWisconsin to Seattle in 12 days with stopping at the national parks is definitely not doable. Don't go any farther than either Glacier or Yellowstone.
- mittshelExplorerOne of my favorite drives. Don't get in a hurry and enjoy the scenery.
- tkey144ExplorerThanks to all for the info.
Sounds like a long but fun and interesting adventure.

First time with an RV,"renting" (saying that the two drivers have driven school bus and semi so not expecting big issues with the first time in a 30' RV, please let me know if there are issues I'm not thinking of)
Our route is from western WI to Seattle in early June traveling to Rushmore, Devils Tower, Cody (if there is a good route), Yellowstone, Glacier, then to Seattle.
We have allowed 12 days for the trip.
We have watched some youtube videos but as they say "You don't know what you don't know"
I'm hoping for some advice.
Thanks!
I would do a shake down trip over a long weekend. No long range dashes just a couple of hours from home 150-200 miles. This will help you get the basics down before heading on a long trip. This will help you plan on what you will need to take with you.

Can we drive thru Yellowstone from Cody to West Yellowstone or Jackson?
We have a 40ft with a toad.
Any info will be appreciated.
Tom
Others have said yes you can but expect delays. The one I didn't see mentioned was the construction delays where stretches of road are one lane and it can be up to 2 hours before they reverse flow of traffic.I was caught in one and wished I had the coach instead of the toad.
Question are you just passing through or looking to stay in the West Yellowstone area? We stayed a little further out on 20 at Buffalo Run RV Park & Cabins, 3402 US-20, Island Park, ID 83429, buffalorunrvpark.com, (208) 558-7112
Nice place and cheaper/not as crowded as in West Yellowstone. There are lots of places to see on that side of the park.
Bill - Rangerman40ExplorerEasy drive but it's going to take forever.... and that's if there are no animal sightings clogging up traffic. It will take a solid two hours from Cody before you even hit the loop.
- Johno02ExplorerWe did it with a 30" and toad, you will probably be glad you have your own bathroom and kitchen with you, especially if any elk or bison block the road. They live and move on their schedule.
- TexasShadowExplorer IIgood road, 45mph speed limit in the park, delays if there is an animal on or near the road. there might not be any good place for you to stop for a break, but you might get lucky :)
