As mentioned Canada is the same as US minus the violence, complete strangers will say hello to you regularly. You will find Diesel, Gas, Propane, Walmart and McDonalds regularly on the major highways just like in America. You will not be able to pay at the pump with your credit cards here (just like us when we visit you) so you will have to say hi to our friendly gas station attendants. You will find a Tim Hortons coffee shop on every corner (in some cases two) and you will enjoy that a $2 large coffee actually tastes way better than the $5 coffee at Starbucks (Tim Hortons may be the only thing we would go to war for) but you can find Starbucks in the cities if Tim Hortons does not Assimilate you. You will also find that you can still pump first and pay after in most gas stations (except at night or in the bigger cities). Your AAA will work anywhere in Canada (CAA here). If you break down people won't stop and shoot you, but will offer you help instead. If you do break down, you will find it is safe to pull over onto the shoulder without getting another flat tire as we regularly clear the shoulders of debris. You will have difficulty finding any highways with potholes (unless it is during spring thaw). You will also find you will get LTE cell service in just about every square inch of the southern part of Canada. We accept Visa and Matercard everywhere, Amex most places and Discover card almost never. We have ATM's everywhere and every (I mean every) debit terminal in every store take Pin and Chip as well as swipe.
Much of Canada (especially near the border) is really not that much different. However if you do go further north you will find fuel stops much less frequent and should plan your stops more carefully.
And for a limited time only (while our dollar is in the crapper) Canada is 25% off. Enjoy Canada.
