Flattest route is an awesome website.
So looks like two main routes through the middle get chosen by the program.
The Cumberland-Uniontown route. Route 40 and 68.
The Charlottesville VA to Charleston WV route. Route 64.
Im not sure which would be easier on the tow vehicle. They both get up to an elevation in the 2500 ft range.
We will be starting from C-ville to Charleston, WV, at 9 am this morning. Do it at least once a year going from our daughters to see my mom in Indiana. Two major climbs. The first is climbing Afton Mtn right out of C-ville and the second is climbing Sandstone Mtn. in WV. Both take time, but I've never had any trouble doing them. I'm in a 2006 Phaeton with a 350 Cat.

If 2500 ft is even a thought, you need to rethink your RV choice. - doxiemom11Explorer IIDoes Mountain Directory East cover that area? If so, it is a great reference.
- groundhogyExplorerThe flattest route algorithm doesn't seem that smart though.
If you are going from basically the same starting point.. Savannah GA or Charleston SC, traveling to Nashville TN, it picks two different routes. One much flatter than the other. - groundhogyExplorerIm going to say the Cumberland route is easier?
The elevation changes seem spread out much further and they seem more stepped shaped rather than roller coaster up and downs over and over. - groundhogyExplorerFlattest route is an awesome website.
