Eclipse 2017

August 21, 2017, but if you follow that stuff you already know that. Oregon State Parks in the path are all full, RV parks in the path are charging Super Bowl prices, and some have a waiting list.

Oregon did not change their reservation schedule....still 9 months.
  • I called one of our favorite places, Kahneeta, which is center path and high desert for a potential clear sky. I called the day the reservation period started. She said they have been booked for years but would take my name for a possible call back. My guess is Marketing is compiling a list to help determine what their "Special Event" rate will be.

Never heard of that Road or Route!!!

  • Just an FYI, Federal campgrounds typically allow bookings beginning 6 months in advance. Right now, one can only book through July so all of August is open but not yet bookable.
  • We may see you at Fishing Bridge, we have reservations there for the night of the 17th before heading down to where we plan to watch the eclipse at a hunting camp outside Douglas WY within a mile of the centerline (we booked there a couple of weeks ago, so are having to make do with electric hook up only)
  • We're going to be there; we have reservations at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone for the 17th through the 24th. Figure on driving down to Grand Teton on the 21st for the eclipse.
  • I wish it was a month earlier, we would still be out in WY/UT and could hope for clear skies. Last one I recall here in the US we drove a long way, the sky was 100 percent overcast. It got dark, and then it got light. Eclipse over....&$#@@

I could send the wife home on a plane, she has to be back for school opening. And stay out there for a couple more weeks, but somehow I don't think it would go over well....heh.
