El Paso TX Bypass?

I don't think the bypass is worth it. Used it twice, didn't save any time, and probably used more fuel in the process. I-10 is tolerable enough during the off-peak hours.

Took 375 heading west last Jan. and returned I-10. Not much difference in time but, as someone has said, if you are looking for services, like restaurants, shopping, etc, 375 is better. 375 does require a pretty good climb over a mountain that I-10 avoids.

Moved to Roads and Routes.

Think we may give the bypass a try.

Certainly no issues with ending up in Mexico-- it is SOUTH. The entire bypass route is NORTH of I 10.

Google map shows it only 3 miles longer than staying in I 10 all the way through El Paso.

That's the route we took last spring (after advice on this forum) and found it to be very easy.

Most definitely stay on well marked roads in these border towns... What you don't want to happen is to get forced into heading for Mexico and no way to turn around...

We went east and west on I-10 this summer thru El Paso. The traffic moved thru El Paso very well as compared to other US cities that I have driven thru. Our east bound venture was at 8AM and everyone else was west bound. So--time is critical. I was wondering about 375 route. I will keep it in mind. Our West Bound trip was around 3 PM--no issues. I got in a lane and breezed thru to Las Cruces for our overnight.

Passing thru El Paso both ways on I-10 quite a few times (years)....absolutely no problem with traffic or anything else. Of course, the time of day might have something to do with that....never ran it during "rush hours".

Are there services on the bypasses mentioned?
Place to stay for the night either commercial or Walmart etc?

At our weight, I'm not fond of 375 over the mountain. I like to take 54 up to the Anthony Gap road (404) and across to 10 on the west side. I'm a native of the area and have been using the Anthony Gap road for almost 50 years - though I do like the new 375 between 54 and I-10 on the east side of EP.
