Erie to Watkins Glen route
Will be going to Watkins Glen from Erie KOA next week. Is I86 construction done and how is it thru the Indian nation area, or should I take Thruway and come down along the lake?

Thanks, last time I was on it, it was so rough you couldn't go over 40- 45, especially the western end. There was also a lot of construction.
2x go I86- tomkaren13 How can you say that being from Fl????? Thew section thru the reservation has been TOTALLY resurfaced and is nice and smooth.

It indeed was quite rough a few years ago. I thought it was much improved over what I had remembered previously, though vehicle differences and sometimes vague memories make it an imprecise comparison. I assume that improved road conditions are be a direct result of there previously having been a lot of construction.- The Indian Reservation part is always rougher. Has to do with who maintains the road.

- Can't help with I86 but we were at Watkins Glen for 6 days last week and it was awesome! Such a beautiful place.
