Estes Park Update
This is just an update. Have talked to friends who are able to communicate with family in Estes Park - we have been unable to contact any friends in Estes. As you know, Estes Park is the Gateway...

Got an email from Estes; people are in an Retirement Center and safe.
So those of you who are familiar - they said think of the Lawn Lake and Big Thompson (disasters of 1976 and 1982) and double that. One cannot even comprehend.
T M - they said everything south of Dunraven is cut off as bridges are out; think that was your area. Whole area of Fish Creek and Fall River are devistated. Fall River had many nice lodges and motels and expensive homes - we have friends who live(d) there.
There is a 54 minute video out by the sheriff's dept - as they go up Big Thompson Canyon major sections of the road, not just the Narrows, are out or the base compromised underneath. Many homes lost as well. It will be a very, very long time before any sort of travel will be done there going up to Estes or down to Loveland. God only knows what will happen to those people.
