In my opinion it is just Tit for Tat.
The Canadian law that if you have ever had a DUI, you can't come here, is in my never to be humble opinion, silly. I'm sure someone in the Great White North had a good or even great reason for some simple slob who had to many and was stopped 40 years ago and arrested for DUI is a threat to the Canadian population.
About as stupid and silly as the Canadian DUI law is any Canadian citizen who committed and was convicted of a Possession for Sale 40 years ago and later pardoned, being a threat to a USA citizen.
It's a child's game of, you did it to me first, so I did it back. Lots of Countries do it.
