While at Glacier NP years ago, pre RV in our van, DW and both teen aged daughters and I decided to day trip from Glacier to Waterton NP, just across the border. Since it was a day trip, we had no luggage, only a cooler and some snacks. Passed the US OK. Once in Canada we were pulled over at the border, all four made to exit and stand against a wall, while several border agents thoroughly went through the van. Reason? Who knows? It was not our first trip to Canada, nor was it to be our last. We have no idea why we were singled out. Maybe, they just needed to practice. BTW, upon our return later that day, there was no one at the border crossing.
