EZ Pass
I know this has been discussed. I've read previous responses. Here's my question. We will be pulling a 25ft TT thru PA/Ohio about 2-3 times a year. Do you folks think it is worth getting the EZ pass? ...
Go Dogs wrote:There's no deposit for the transponder per se, but they do require you to keep a balance in your EZ Pass account at all times. When you first get the unit, they take $35.00 from your checking or credit card account (whichever you decide to use) and hold it in escrow against toll usage. When you drop below a predetermined dollar amount, they charge another $35.00 automatically.The_Painting_Teacher wrote:
EZ Pass is available free (at least from the State of Mass) and is secured with a credit card number. I have two transponders, one for towing and one for solo. Some EZ Pass lanes permit you to travel through at 65 mph, but most do not. In any event .... free and drive through? It's worth it. Camp on!
I believe in PA, there is a small deposit for the transponder. When I read the FAQ, it said that you only needed one transponder, if you are pulling a trailer the toll booth will add the additional axles automatically. I think I will get one. They are available at the AAA, some Walmarts, or online, etc.
Thanks for your help!
