I'm sorry; I never had children. Therefore, no first born to sell to afford a ferry ticket for an RV. But it does sound lovely.
Very timely post. I came here just now to ask the exact same question and all I had to do was put "Seattle" in the search box, and up it came. :)
Actually the ferry fare to Port Townsend is relatively cheap. Last time we went, we were 3" over the next incremental length and had to pay more. Could have taken the spare tire off if we had known in advance. Turned out the ferry was only have full too. Lovely ferry ride and definitely worth doing.
If you want expensive, take an RV over to Vancouver Island! Last time we priced it, it was something like $500 or so round trip.
