Fire in Oregon

Could anyone with knowledge of the Canyonville fire please keep us updated today and tomorrow. We're currently north of Seattle and coming down the I-5 tomorrow to Canyonville and we're having a difficult time keeping abreast of the current state of the fire.

Thank you.

Thank you. The info is much appreciated. Still not sure what to do tomorrow morning.

Take Cook Road east to Sedro Wooley then Highway 20 east from there for a great ride over to Pateros, an south on 97,,,, miss it all. It is an easier drive and brings you at Weed.

Cook Road is the first intersection south on 9 from your campground. turn left at the light by Bob's burgers and brew ( just over the RR overpass)
  • Use extreme caution. Last year just to the south a fire jumped I5 and burned cars and trucks. Keep in mind that this fire has already jumped I5 (maybe that portion is under control). Plus the smoke etc is very bad. I would NOT stay in 7 Feathers or anywhere else. I plan to be in Grants Pass in 3 weeks and will cancel if required.

    Current map.
  • You can look on the link I posted for latest information.
Air tankers from hear have been down there but not flying today. Maybe smaller air tankers from Bend, OR.

  • We're supposed to be at 7F next Sunday.
For now, it looks like the fire is a couple of miles SE of the resort. Smoke can be seen from there but the winds are driving it S/SE.
Air quality is still showing as "GOOD".

Please let us know how it goes today!
