I don't know much about this but I saw it on Amazon and it looked interesting. I don't watch television other than Mexican news local and national and what I get on the internet. We dropped our cable a couple of years ago for lack of interest.My questions are; is the Fire stick wifi driven? Would it work in Mexico?Can you see what shows, movies or programs are available before buying the stick?I would like to see old television programs from the fifties and sixties. I usually watch them on Youtube but this sounds interesting if I am understanding how it works.Thanks in advance.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is in fact WiFi driven. Not really viable for RV use unless you have access to a high bandwidth WiFi source.

It makes a dumb TV almost a smart TV. You need WiFi and it only goes where AMAZON wants you to go. You can watch anything on amazon prime or stuff you put in their cloud.

I would be using it at home but it is good to know it might work on the road with a strong signal.

I think Roku would make a better choice.

Use a IP changer like HMA, set it to a site in the US and netflix and podcasts work fine.

Amazon will prevent you from using it in Mexico. Most of the workarounds do not work.

I tried my Roku (access to netflix) in my RV. It worked in some RV parks, but not most. It was an experiment. You have to remember that using devices like that slows down net access for everyone else in the park.

You may want to check to see if the Amazon content is available in foreign countries. Content providers such as Netflix don't offer service in some foreign countries and will not allow you to access their programming if you try to log in with a foreign ISP. Good luck!

Rarely use an rv park. Home Depot has a strong signal and there is never anyone else there at night. But thanks for the reminder.
