In the panhandle near Chattahoochee is East Bank Corps of Engineers campground on Lake Seminole. www.recreation.gov is where you can find info about that campground. Florida Caverns State Park is in Marianna and interesting to visit. We also like Live Oak Landing in Freeport FL. Quiet but about 11 miles to the beach. Fishing available at RV Park. In Pensacola, visit the National Naval Aviation museum. Nearby is Fort Barrancas. For New Orleans we like Bayou Segnette State Park. Water and electric with dump station. We take I-310 west of New Orleans to US90 and then back east on US90 to the state park. While you're in the area, go see the Tabasco Factory near New Iberia at Avery Island. From LA, take US165 north to Kinder LA. There is a nice RV park at Coushatta Casino. Then take US190 west to where it merges with US171 north. Turn left to stay on US190 west. Take US69 to US84 in Rusk. There is a KOA in Rusk and an old train station State Railroad with excursions. From Palestine TX take US287 to I-20. Watch the weather and make sure you get settled in Fort Worth between possible ice storms. We camped in 9 degree weather during an ice storm with no problem. We go to TX every February and have not had any problems if we have plenty of time to change our plans due to weather.
Thank you so much - the Tabasco Factory - wow - that is a must! No ice storms please! We have to stay away from the cold so will be very slow journey to Ft Worth area.
Are most of these state roads two lanes with many stop lights?
