Florence, SC Overnight stop

Heading from Central Pa to Fla late Dec. I am looking for an easy off/on I-95 campground in the area of Florence, SC. Any you would suggest there or 50 miles either side of Florence?
Thanks
For 33' TT

  • We like to stay at South of the Border.. nice, long, pull-thrus, rate is around $25, AARP discount only. Fun to go through some of the shops. Just recently went to the Reptile Lagoon. That was interesting. CG is east of 301, almost right in back of the Myrtle Beach Gift Shop. Nice walking area if you have pets.
  • Thanks accsys, will stop and check them out, there were times when we wanted to get off road right about there.
  • My inner child is going to prevail one of these days and we'll stop at SOB and do all the stuff the "Pedro Sez" billboards have been advertising since I was five years old!

Meanwhile... we have stayed at Florence RV Park twice and had a good experience there.

Nope, there's too many trees between I-95 and the campground at the bottom right of the picture. It is a nice stop and has good rates South of the Border Accomodations

We've stayed at the Florence RV Park (last time was 2011) and it was perfect for overnighting. We had a drive through site near the office, with good wifi. I don't know about the bathroom facilities.
  • If you end up wanting to stop sooner than Florence, 30 miles north is the campground at South of the Border which gets fairly good reviews.
