I hear that I-10 is horrible, can anyone suggest another route?

The very rough section in West Louisiana is a long bridge over the bayou.
I don't remember how many miles long it is.
I slowed down to about 50-55 mph and turned on the flashers.
65 mph was too violent of a ride for us. Hard on rv as well.
For me, I avoid downtown Houston on I-10 by taking the toll road around to the north.
