Don't go to the Flying J in Kingman, AZ unless you really want to waste your time. I went there this morning to fill up using my Visa/Debt card and after a minute or so of answering questions at the pump it told me to see the cashier. I went in and was second in line and finally when it was my turn I asked why did they waste my time at the pump when they knew I would have to come inside. The response "we're sorry for the misunderstanding". Then I'm told they don't hold the cards when filling up and I would have to state an amount I wanted. So, if my truck didn't take the full amount I would have to go back inside and stand in a line again. Tell me, WHAT'S THE PUPOSE OF HAVING A CARD READER AT THE PUMP IF IT'S JUST GOING TO TELL YOU TO GO INSIDE AND SEE THE CASHIER??????? I will never go to a flying J again and I advise nobody go to one.

Ya! Like you it's costing you money, right? Go to the truck Island next time. Remember the people working there are just like MCD's. Minimum wage etc. Some of Flying J managment are going to jail for Racketeering, see storyhttp://www.thetruckersreport.com/

When I come off the road to fuel up I don't deserve to be treated like that. I no longer go to Flying J. Their stupid worthless discount card got pitched out the window and is somewhere in a ditch along I-75 in Florida.

That procedure is NOT unique to Flying J. I've been to lots of places where I had to make 2 trips inside.

Most any gas station will allow a limited amount at the pump. Why is this J any different? Were you pumping over the limit?BTW I only go to J if there's no other choice, but it's not because of what you saw.. they're just always busy.

I have a question, not about Flying J specically but truck stops in general. The diesel hose nozzles are too large for the fuel opening in our F350 Turbo Diesel, so we end up having to seek out places where autos fuel. How can you use those truck fuel lines?

I have never had a problem either. The new Pilot charge card is the way to go, get the discount and it won't shut off at $100 (or whatever).

I fuel at Flying J whenever possible. I like the convenience of swiping the RV discount card to start the pump, the fuel discount and minimal standing in line at the fuel desk. When fueling at other fuel stops I have to walk inside, estimate the fuel needed walk back to the coach and fuel, walk back to the fuel desk and sign. No fuel stop is perfect, but Flying J is at the top of the list for me.

We would be x4, but just had a problem at the Pilot/FJ on the south side near Ashtabula, Ohio a couple of days ago. We couldn't get their pumps to recognize our RV card properly (it would either register the discount price but not pump, or it wouldn't recognize the card).

On a positive note, the store management authorized the discounted price we were supposed to get as a refund in cash.

Went to a flying J in Georgia that had RV lanes,pin pad not working so had to go inside and leave card, cashier seemed to know about pin pad problem, think maybe they could put a sign on it? Have never used the truck lanes, can you use a card at the pump there or do you have to go inside? Thanks for your help, Dave

X3...Never had a problem either. I do not use Flyin J often but when I do it's easy. Happy and safe travels.....

X4 or 5... To the OP..if you were in the fuel business how many $500-$800 drive offs a day would you eat before figuring out you better get your money first?? There are ways to use the cards correctly. No problems in 13 years other than the Pilot merge year due to computer changeover. :) :)
