A big problem with insurance is that the policy holders don't take time to read and understand their policies until they are facing a loss.
Example: My home owner's insurance policy does not cover the cost to repair or replace a broken water line, but it will cover any water damage caused by broken pipe. It will not cover the cost of replacing a malfunctioning appliance but cover the house and contents if they are damaged by a fire caused by that appliance.
