Doesn't get much flatter than this. Just a few rolling hills here and there, same with I-70, nothing to be concerned about at all.
Raton, while small, can be deceptive. Last year, in May, a late blizzard in northern NM made it impassible and unfortunately, my daughter was stranded in the Las Vegas NM area until they got it reopened. Took about 36 hours until they got the pass reopened. And it can happen at any time.
