Four Dollar Per Gallon Gasoline & Diesel Has Arrived

  • Posted to avoid pump sticker shock
  • Magna is a tiny bit lower and Premium and Diesel a bit more than a dollar per liter
  • Always up NEVER down, in pesos, in the 54 years I have been buying fuel here
  • The favored presidential representative claims he is going to lower the price of fuel
  • But that will be at the end of the year
  • Very possible to see $4.50 - $4.80 gallon fuel because Mexican prices are tracking USA bubbles albeit at a higher level
  • This hammers the price of consumer goods and transportation so hold onto your shorts
  • Virtually everything I see down here has been inching upward weekly
  • I can afford it on Social Security and poor people cannot
  • The USA is fracking so much oil they are EXPORTING IT TO CHINA yet the prices are surging
  • And USA oil companies are blaming it on OPEC
  • I spend my money with small family businesses
  • It's going to be one hard year
  • Be generous with tips
  • Tough to do in Mexico. We'll be there permanently in less than 2 months!!!!!

If you choose electric it could make a real impact.
My truck still burns gas but day to day I have been driving electric since May 2011.
  • Tiny cars are good!

Unleaded gas in Southern California is $3.41.9 right now.
  • diesel is 380.9 american pesos in my neck of the woods, same price for premium unleaded. they forecast north of $5 by summer

Nope. Even "finished" petroleum products (gasoline and diesel) are sold over seas.

After the US switch to ultra low sulfur diesel several years back, exports of low sulfur diesel shot through the roof. It was cheaper to dump the stuff on the world market than install the equipment to remove the remaining sulfur. And, at the same time, it help produce a shortage of ULSD driving the price up !
  • Oil exports were barred after the oil embargo 42 years ago. In late 2015 the law was changed to allow it again.
  • I've always understood that it is illegal for US oil to be sold overseas.
