Planning a trip from Belleville, Ontario across to Sarnia, however, that is too long a trip to make in one day, so need help.We will tow a small travel trailer (~19 ft. with Suburban), and wanting some helps on where we could stop for an overnighter - have looked at London, in order not to have to have cross the Border at Sarnia to Port Huron in late afternoon.Any help from you all could be great as we have only traveled from Niagara Falls to Belleville and across to, think it was Vermont before.This time we would be going across to Kimball MI - BTW our son is in Belleville, but as far as he travels is into Toronto, is not a tour guide by any means. He is on contract with an American Corp. and working in Canada at this time.

Milton Heights Campground is just on the west side of Toronto. It is an easy off/on Highway 401 and will leave you about 2.5 hours to Sarnia. There is highway noise but it is well looked after - we summarize and winterize our trailer there every year. And if you are planning to head into Toronto it is probably the easiest campground to get to Toronto.There is also Bronte Creek provincial park but it is a bit off Hwy 401.Let us know if you need more info.

It's a four and a half hour drive, depending on what time you hit Toronto. That's a short day trip.

Thank you so very much - being as have not driven this segment of the highway before, any helps are appreciated. The Milton one sounds good, Hubby is a good driver, but sometimes we all can use help in directions, etc. Know that when we do Google mapping or Good Sam either one ... we have to add about 50% more time to their perception of time.

We stayed at a KOA 1 nite on the east side of London. Easy off/easy on 401. Hiway noise but not a big deal......

Not a KOA anymore. I think it is called Triple C or something like that. Easy off and on 401.

There is a Thousand Trails near Kimball that has space for travelers. As a life-long Michigan resident I had never heard of Kimball but had to look it up because I have a Granddaughter getting married there June 12. I have been through there many times but never heard the name. Are you going to the golf course or the bar? That is Kimball. I stop at Milton Heights frequently. I also drive from Capac, MI to Pembroke Ontario in 1 day with a 38' MH & toad.

Thank you for the 'heads up' on this place - I emailed them our request so we have reservations now and will just need to call them tomorrow to verify the information.

Looks like a place Hubby will enjoy being at for an overnighter. Thank you for the information.

That KOA near London is now "Campers Corner RV Campground" ..

If you don't mind boondocking, the Flying J near London Ontario allows RV parking, our friend stayed there overnight before we met up with him. You may want to call to confirm. It's a short run to Sarnia from there.The web link is below.

If you were to leave Belleville at around 9:00 am you would be through Toronto by around 11:00 am and conservatively you should arrive in Sarnia around 2:00 - 2:30 pm at the latest. If you still want to break the trip up with an overnight then the previously mentioned Milton Heights is probably your best bet.

The Glenn Rouge City Park just off the 401 on the east border of Toronto is very nice and reasonably priced .....
