So much for Google Maps. Planning a trek from Lynchburg, VA to Cape Cod. Planned to follow the above advice and past trips to take 81 to 287 across the TZ and then - following google - connect to the Merritt Pkway. Good thing I checked. Way over the weight and tow limits. So I guess we're stuck with the lower route along I95? Looks like 84 goes way further north??

Also, the Merritt and Cross Parkways have low underpasses.

Believe me, taking I84 to Rt 9 south to New London and missing all that******on I95 will more than pay for the extra miles with reduced stress. Once past the New Haven construction mess, I95 is 2 lanes in each direction and if a semi or a Pruis gets in the left lane the road pretty much comes to a stop.

Yep. Actually 84 is only 22 miles longer and anytime I can bypass 95 I feel ahead of the game. Thanks.
Came up 81 to 78 today, no issues. A few rough spots but not so bad. At Cabelas in Hamburg for the night. Plenty of room, lots of grass for the dogs. Figure what we save on CG will be spent soon as we walk inside, and then some.
