Follow the entrance and it'll parallel the border fence then make an 180 degree horseshoe. Stay in the right lane. When you see the sign SOMETHING TO DECLARE pull over to the right under the canopy. A Customs man will walk up.
Say "TOURIST CARDS?"
He will tell you where to park then point at the doorway to get your FMM tourist cards. Lock Everything Up!
When you return, they may or they may not wish to stick their head in the door of the trailer for 3.7 seconds. If the bed of your pickup is loaded with stuff they will want to take a closer look. They do not like to see DESKTOP computers, outboard motors sans boat, 80" flat panel TV's, or warehouse stacking of commercial goods inside the trailer on in the pickup bed.
BEEF is restricted. When you pass from Baja California to Baja California Sur at Guerrero Negro there will be an agricultural inspection station. No fresh fruits or vegetables are allowed.
I brought EIGHT HUNDRED POUNDS of supposedly inadmissible merchandise with me when I passed here in October. I did the TOURIST CARD? thing even though I am a citizen. When I returned three Customs men were leaning against my car shooting the bull. Through clear windows, the rear seat was stacked all the way to the ceiling with merchandise.
They said Buenas Dias, moved away from the car, I started the engine and departed.
Does this make you feel better?
