Going back to the original post, many moons ago when premiun gasolina was one peso per liter, I would borrow my dad's or big sister's car on Saturday and take the girlfriend to the movies to the Cine Roble that colapsed in the 85 quake or the Cine Chapultepec now replaced with the Torre Mayor or others and then take her to dinner at the Chalet Suizo in the zona Roza for dinner and fill the tank full for about 100 pesos or less, I would ask the atendant to pump 10 pesos that would purchase 10 liters, I prefered to take my dads car since he kept the tank pretty full so I always had change left over, my sister on the other hand would goble the 10 pesos worth, I worked at a gift shop after school so I had some money not much but I engoyed la vida loca.
Dinner at the Chalet Suizo cost me 50 pesos with the tip and wine for two, the movie tickets were 17 pesos per nose with popcorn and soda, some times my dad's car would have a full tank, so maybe a couple of pesos worth of fuel, the station attendant would joke that he hopped the car would not drown with the enormous quantity of fuel, I always gave them a tip and I still give them a tip when filling today more than ever, since some of them make so little.
That was a long time ago, que pasen buena tarde, it is hot today, wen't out side and it feels like an oven, no breeze it 88 fareheight and in the morning it was 56 with clear blue sky, nice reminiscence got to go hasta la vista.
