FYI-Where folks live in Canada

The following graphic is a real eye opener, even for a Canadian.

As one who has never lived in a crowded city, and no desire to, I now see that I live in the province with the largest concentration of people. I guess I knew that but never saw it like this.

Luckily I live at the far end of Ontario where the little bump-up from Minnesota called the northwest angle is. Should be after my lifetime before the urban sprawl from the greater Toronto area reaches us... :W

This shows where almost half of the folks in Canada live.

Baby, its crowded here!

Well, that sure leaves a lot of room for the rest of us eh?

  • Stop by Egli's sheep farm in Minnitaki next time you are up by Dryden. My DW needs new slippers.
    give my regards to them.

Sounds like Sioux Narrows is close to you, we visited friends there on our way back from Alaska last year. Yep not many people west of there at all, lots of towns were under 500 people and they were far apart.

We are close, bout 30 miles south at Nestor Falls.

The size of Canada and the few people using all that space is pretty amazing when you see it like this graph.
As I write this from Kissimmee, which is a bit busier for sure...:B
  • Lucky you! :)
And I mean it in a positive sense, not as a derogatory remark.
Quality of life is more important than quantity.
